What better way to begin the new year than by indulging in some music? When the temperatures are pretty chilly and we’re all in need of a little pick me up after the heights of Christmas and New Year's, it’ll be music, company, and good times that’ll keep us warm. And on this front, Regina has you covered. Coming up in January and the early part of February we have a host of music-centred events that’ll put a spring back in your step, before the arrival of spring!

Beer, bacon, bands

Any event that’s called ‘Beer Bacon Bands’ is probably going to be good in more ways than one. They are, after all, all good things! Taking place at the Conexus Arts Centre on January 25, attendees will have the chance to savour local craft beers and bacon specialities, including Bacon Wrapped Cheese Stuffed Brats, Bacon Onion Rings, Bacon Satay, Bacon Cheddar Beer Bread, Bacon Cannoli and much more. There are even more food choices available from more than forty different booths. In addition, there’ll also be DJs and bands such as Five Alarm Funk and Whale and the Wolf keeping the atmosphere alive and kicking all through the night.

Singing out

It's always a good time to go out and listen to a choir do their thing, but the truth is, don’t you sometimes wish that you could join in? Well, wish no more. On January 24, ‘Choir! Choir! Choir!’ will take place at the Exchange as part of the Regina Folk Festival's Winterruption. The audience is not passive -- they become the choir. Get ready to exercise your singing chops and become part of a choral community. When you arrive, you'll be guided through the arrangements of songs that you will be performing.

For the kids

Are you travelling with little ones? Keep them happy and entertained by taking in a live production of “The Great Pirate Adventure,” a music-filled extravaganza that features characters from the popular pre-school series PAW Patrol. The stage show will follow the beloved pups, Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Sky, Rocky and Zuma on a treasure hunt. Audience members are encouraged to participate by shouting out pirate catchphrases, dance the pirate boogie and assist the pups to find the hidden treasure. The adventure takes place at the Brandt Centre - Evraz Place on February 1 and 2.
